Relationships Consultation

Archive - this was a consultation we ran in Spring 2020

RSE: Relationships Education

From September 2020 it will be compulsory to teach a new Relationships framework. We have decided to get ahead of the game and have chosen to be an 'early adopter' school - so this means we are starting this work a little early.

This means that we are consulting with you and your children now to put in place some trial lessons and approaches in the summer term.

Here is some information from the government about this compulsory framework: government guide for parents

In brief, by the end of primary school, pupils will have been taught content on the following areas (which are already part of our PSHE curriculum):

• families and people who care for me • caring friendships • respectful relationships • online relationships • being safe

On Monday 9th March, at 3.20pm and 4.20pm we have two consultation sessions for parents. We will be able to show you our draft policy, curriculum overview and sample teaching materials.

If you are not able to attend, please do not hesitate to contact the school via the office to request a meeting or conversation at another time.
