Year 4

Welcome to the Year 4 class page. Year 4 consists of two classes: Willows taught by Ms Butler and Poplars taught by Mr Tricker. 

Hello everyone and welcome back to your final fantastic term in year 4.

This term we will be taking part in the Year 4 multiplication check. We will make sure that we all have lots of practice in order to be fully prepared. Remember to complete your TTRockstars daily!

The summer term is going to be full of amazing learning opportunities. We will continue to develop our knowledge of mathematics by studying money, geometry, time, and area and perimeter. We will continue to practise our arithmetic skills daily.

In English, you will be linking your learning to geography with the beautifully illustrated book, Flotsam, as well as writing creative narratives connected to key moments in history.

In history, we will be expanding our knowledge by looking at the life of Ancient Egyptians. We will also be studying rivers in geography, learning lots of fascinating facts about their uses.

We will be learning about many other exciting subjects: cricket and athletics in PE; new vocabulary in Spanish with ‘Rooms in the Home’; samba and carnival sounds in music; fabric of nature, inspired by William Morris and various themes, including the rainforest.

‘Mr Tricker and Ms Butler do maths’ will continue this term in order to support you with your maths knowledge, as you prepare for year 5 and beyond. We can’t wait to continue our learning journey with you!
